Institutional Ethics Committee

The Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre & Research Institute comprises of a varied mix of individuals from various walks of life. Some members (clinicians) are from the institute whereas others are noted persons from society. The IEC has a long-standing reputation for being assertive and takes pride in the safe-guarding of research participants, along with ensuring ethical conduct of all research projects, academic as well as commercial. It is also registered with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (Registration No.- ECR/250/Inst/WB/2013/RR-16) and works in compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines (ICH-GCP, Schedule Y of Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, ICMR guideline and others).

The IEC meets on the third Friday of the month, every 3 months, i.e. 4 times in a year.

All dossiers containing essential documents for IEC submission must be handed over to Mrs Fenella Simone Anthony (D’cruz) [IEC secretariat, contact no.- 9831142992] at least 3 weeks prior to the date of the IEC meeting. For example, for the IEC meeting dated 15/Feb/2020, all documents for review must reach the IEC secretariat by 25/Jan/2020.
